Attentive Postpartum Care & Guidance

• Care and support by your midwife in immediate postpartum period (3-6 hours after birth), either at your home or at the birth center
  
  
• Breastfeeding and recovery support
  
  
• Complete newborn exam after birth
  
  
• In-home postpartum visit the day after the birth for mom and baby
  
  
• A minimum of 4 postpartum visits offered in the first 6 weeks after birth, more if needed
  
  
• Newborn care for the first 2 weeks of life
  
  
• Appropriate newborn tests offered
  
  
• Birth certificate services
  
  
• 6-week follow-up to offer well-women care such as breast exams, pap smears and family planning options
